John was born in England but grew up in Belfast, N. Ireland. He holds
a BA in Law and Politics from Durham University. He speaks
fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese and has a working
knowledge of French.
John worked for 14 years with Lloyds Bank in Uruguay, Argentina, Portugal
and Paraguay. He moved to ABN AMRO, Montevideo in 1994, as
a Regional Manager, Private Banking covering the Southern
Cone. From 1999 to 2001 John worked with Merrill Lynch in
Uruguay before joining RBC Investments in May, 2001.
John is a keen tennis player, having represented Ireland in the Davis
Cup, but he claims cricket is his passion and golf his demise.
As President of St. Andrew's Society of Uruguay he is an
avid Scottish dancer.
